In November of 2006, we travelled to Antarctica to see the largest of the penguins- The Emperor Penguin.  Not only is the the Emperor Penguin is amazing in many ways, but it is quite an adventure just getting there- crossing the infamous Drake Passage, breaking through solid ice, hiking over frozen sea water - all to see these remarkable creatures.
